November lawn care

If the weather is 'open' (neither frosty nor wet) and the surface is firm, mow once with the blades set high. All equipment should now be cleaned and oiled for winter storage. Brush away worm casts and if numerous use Lawn Sand next spring. Keep the lawn clear of fallen leaves and other debris.

November is far too late for seed sowing but it is a good month for laying turf.

December lawn care

Apart from brushing away leaves, December is the slack end to a busy year.  Keep off the lawn when it is wet or frozen - if you must wheel heavy loads over it, put down boards to prevent rutting.

Turfing is possible during a fine spell.
